Since we are using Windows Authentication to print on these machines, setting a user up to print isn’t as easy as just installing the driver and adding the printer. There are a few steps beyond that which have to be taken.
- In the driver under advanced options click user authentication.
- Then hit apply
- The go into printer preferences and click valid access tab. Click authentications
- (sometimes the aforementioned is arranged different and is actually located here) detailed settings, then job setup, then authentication
- Enter their windows username and password. Click ok. this will save it in the driver and won’t have to enter again.
